Always make sure you verify you have enough clearance between the piston and the valve. With head gasket installed and head torqued, not full torque but you should at least partially crush the head...

Here’s a thread on how I did mine. It’s in sequence after the radiator cooler as Jim mentioned. It’s a stacked plate as well. I put it up front for better air flow, plus it also keeps it hidden....
