I can actually get it to idle at a lower rpm than when I had it hooked up to manifold vacuum. There is less of a drop going into gear.

I decided to experiment with ported vacuum advance tonite. My engine is similar to yours with SD KRE 290 heads and the ole faithful cam.Except I'm using a holley 750 4779 and torker 2 intake.I'll keep you posted on my fiindings.

    Hi, Cliff...
Would you send me your email address at work? For some reason, I can't make the "contact me" choice on your web site work on my computer? I want to send you some additional info that you'll probably need for my carb rebuilt. Thanks, and take care.

Cliff, I just wanted to thank you for your q-jet book. I know you've been battling health issues, and a backlog of carbs. So I decided to give it a try myself.
    Here's the thread:http://forums.performanceyears.com/f...d.php?t=588416
I'm going to save the 800 CFM carb for my LeMans. I'll probably get in touch with you about carb mods and cam choice since I'll be going with a 4 speed.
Thank you for your book, and the willingness to share info and help others with your posts.
