I just got the 1969 catalina from the repairshop. new oil pump and timing chain were added. They had to replace all the exhaust manifold studs that were rusted so dual exhaust can be added. I still would take the $1800.00 to brake even if your still interested. Bryan 319-795-5821

The only reason My dads Sheriffs office got Pontiacs because the Sheriff was buddies with the local Pontiac dealer.

Dupage County, IL Sheriffs Dept. Back then you could order pretty much what you wanted for cars if you knew the right people. One local PD where I work in Delaware, they ordered a 1971 Ford police car, and when they received it, it had a black vinyl roof, the dealer put a check in the wrong box.

What PD did your father work for? Any pre 1976 Pontiac Police package car is a rare beast! I only bought mine as it is a odd Performance Pontiac, I like cars that are different, and can get out of there own way. I just found out another odd thing with my car today. I had to push it outside for the last couple of weeks as I had to work on my wifes daily driver. Found out that the trunk seal leaks, and let water into the drivers side rear footwell. When I pulled the rear carpet up I found that they just laid the optional carpeting over the regular Police rubber mat! I never would have thought it would have both! The Carpeting is on the PHS. Weird.

Yeah, my dads dept drove Pontiacs. 69s were the only four Catalinas they had from 67 to 77 that were police packages. They were plain civilian cars. the 67 and 68s had mechanical sirens, and when they hit them the cars would stall out.

I had No Idea! Nice to see there are at least 3 Pontiac Police Car Nuts on that Site.
