    Hi Skip:

    Thanks for the comments on my differential posts. Do you run rear discs on your T/A? I understand it's not too bad to swap to 3rd gen discs in the rear. I hop you don't mind a few questions - Wondering if that set-up works with stock snowflakes/rallys? I assume you need an extended hub on aftermarket axles to make it work - does somebody offer them off-the-shelf? Lastly - what master cylinder would be needed?

    I tried asking before, but I don't think my PM went through - but apologize for the repeat if it did.

    Any info appreciated.

    Hi Skip, we acquired another outdoor stray cat this summer, maybe one-two years old.
    We still have our cat and the neighbor's cat visits too. We might move at some point and do not want a second cat. The neighbor said he would take care of the cat along with his if we could get the cat inside. The cat apparently at one time spent time in a house. Not afraid of a house. So can we pick up this cat by the scruf of the next and carry him (Butt supported) a few feet to get him into the neighbor's house for a while to get used to it and the neighbor's cat "house routine"? The neighbor's cat has always been a super friendly house kitty.

    I'd just get a reducer at the muffler outlet and use their(Pypes) 2.5 tailpipes, then the adapters to the splitters.

    Hi Skip,
    I was wondering if you could help a fellow TA owner out with a problem regarding exhaust systems. I've got a 78 TA with the Pypes SGF13 3" X system, but want to use the splitters. So I purchased Pypes TGF10E which are the 2 1/2" splitter adapters, now I need to get the stainless steel tails that go from the muffler to the splitter pipes. Called Pypes and they gave me the stock answer of " we do not sell a 3" into 2 1/2" system, even though I told them that several people on the forum were able to get the system. But no dice with the sales person. Life is too short for me to keep emailing, calling, whatever to get them to OK a system. Can you suggest any 2 1/2" stainless tailpipes which would mate up to the Pypes splitter adapters. I don't have the room to run 3" all the way out the splitters. Thanks for any help you can provide for me.

    Skip, keep in mind that you keep hitting Harry's post with your test of a completely different set-up.

    Harry tested an open spacer/adapter which doesn't direct or provide a smooth flow path for the air into the 4 holes of the stock intake.

    He also tested ONE carb for both deals, not two completely different carburetors.

    No need to confuse the folks here any further. Air coming out of a square flange carb with an open adapter has a HUGE flat surface to slam into, which is going to hurt performance.

    He also did dyno testing, not track testing. For a variety of reasons one carb can run significantly quicker than another at the track, due how well it 60's, stays full on hard runs, sloshing fuel out on the launch, etc.

    I NEVER see over 2hp between any HP950 or my 4781-2 Holley on the dyno and my 1977 Pontiac q-jet.

    At the track never once has the deviation between any of them been over .03 seconds and about .30mph. In other words, once correctly tuned, pretty much equal in dyno power and track performance.

    I'm not being critical of your test, just mentioning that it isn't the same thing Harry did, not really even very close to it, if you look at all the parameters. His post has WAY too many folks patting him on the back (I really thought in general folks were a lot smarter these days), which I find quite surprising. He didn't test intakes, he just compared one that wasn't set up with the correct parts to one that was.....Cliff

    The Torker II actually has a small 3/8 spacer but I do have a hybrid Shaker scoop. The 77 had the retainer ring metal tight and used a fibergalss spacer between it and the scoop. The 78 used all metal and was about 1/4" taller. I dimpled the air cleaner base for the float adjustment bolts on the Holley carb with a hammer in front and spliced in a section from an after market one in the back the hammer didn't let it sit flat.

    No problems with the booster.The factory 4 wheel disc one is even smaller and is what I'm running now

    Hey,
    I saw in your sig that your 78 has the 455 and I was thinking about doing the same thing for my 79.

    Question, did you have clearance issues with the brake booster and how did you get your shaker to fit under the hood. I've heard these are common problems.
