Cliff-I'm in the process of purchasing a 7040273 carb for my trans am. I noticed you're running an 8 month turnaround. I'd hate to have that carb out of my hands that long. Can I get in line for a rebuild and send the carb when you close to me in line? Also, can you tell me if there's anything I should be checking on that carb before buying? It's going to cost a king's ransom. Thanks, Chris

We charge $275 labor plus parts/shipping for complete/correct rebuilding. This includes rebuilding the throttle body with bronze bushings, recalibration, performance mods, upgrades for ethanol, and a running test prior to shipping.

We also replace any leaking bottom plugs with screw in plugs, and un-warp main castings and airhorns if needed.

Add $125 if you want the castings zinc/chromated and small parts plated?

    Thanks.....Cliff

Currently approx 8 months turn around time.

Prices are subject to change without notice.

Cliff-what do your quadrajet services run, and typical turn around. Building a 69 Judge and would like to have carb recolored/rebuilt. Couldn't justify a real one for a NOM car, I think it is for a 69 GTO manual. Thanks, Todd

    Good new!

We use Viton components, so they are fine if it isn't drained down. I still like to run them dry, as it helps prevent "varnish" build up in the idle tubes and other tiny passages.....Cliff

    Cliff,

Your rebuild of my carb. is great, ran reliable no leaking or loadup........nothing! Well worth the wait for an expert rebuild! Many thanks again.

Put the car out in storage last weekend with 1/3 tank of non-e premium in it. I bring/leave the 455HO into town for every May generally for Summer cruising.

How best should I leave the car out there please, run gas completely out of carb etc......

    Thanks.

    Cliff,
I am running a 74 gto with a shaker and having trouble fabricating an air cleaner.
Can you tell me what air cleaner setup you are using with your shaker hood?
    Thanks for the help.

3" head pipes are fine, I use an "H" with my car to keep things tucked up tighter. I have straight thru custom mufflers, from Tom Hand, to 2.5" full length tailpipes. I ran it with "turn-downs" for 2 years, then added the tailpipes right before Norwalk. Didn't slow it down anyplace. My engine makes a solid 560hp and over 600tq.

The tailpipes really quieted it down, not much louded than a stock 69 GTO RAIII car.....
