    Cliff,

Thanks for your reply to Tomahawk Cam Surging Idle. I am going to spend some time going back through checking for vacuum leaks, recheck the degree setting on the ICL, and a few other things. I know you are busy so once I determine what the major issue is, I will come back to you for some help with the carb and find out about increasing the idle fuel along with bypass air.

Having built many engines in my life this one has me mystified. I have used cams similar to this size in a chev 383 with no issues. I think there is something basic I did wrong and will figure it out.

Your carb rebuild and tuning was awesome on my initial combo and I am confident I will get it back to running as well as before.

Hey cliff, I need you to do a "refresh" on a carb you rebuilt for me - what do I need to do.? Is your address to send to you on your website?

It's leaking from the passenger side.

    Thanks
    Bruce

Cliff, thanks for the heads up. When i come to think about it, he did comment an answer i gave in the past in a negative way, making me look bad? I totally agree a screw up can be embarrasing, but if the back up support is what it should be, and i know you have, it will never be a real problem. I always tell my customers, "if it works well tell your friends, if there is a problem tell me". I too, have seen some of the "others" units here, some are better than others, but seldom, if ever, correct for the application it was aimed for.
Worst are the ebay vendors, and the old Holley and Tomco rebuilt carbs almost makes me laugh! Thanks to you and your book and some of my own testing i have been able to fix most of the problems with those units.
Keep up the good work Cliff, i always enjoy your inputs on the Forums!
BTW, the the S/S-GT carb i built for Don Kennedy´s old racecar, the 1982 Firebird sold to Sweden, after your tips, worked real well, they won thier first competition with it!
    Regards,
    Kenth

Hi cliff its paul from NJ You made me a carb for my 461 stroker a few yrs back. when you built it you asked me if i needed a choke flap which I answered no. I would like to send the carb back to have that installed. also with the ethanol gas we have nowadays here in the east are there new seals that can be installed to avoid issues with the gas? My info is Paul andersen ridgewood NJ 201-835-7267 Thanks

I'd install one of our kits, they have upgraded parts for modern fuel. The old style accellerator pumps don't cut it in this E-10.

It may need jets and metering rods as well. It really helps to add about 5-7 percent more of this corn-fuel than the older types of gasoline.

This new fuel has less BTU's, and is slightly harder to burn...got to love paying MORE for LESS!.....Cliff
