    I 'm thinking the '65 is shorter, by about 1-inch overall. That is what I found when I swapped it for my mid '70's 8-1/2-inch rear. I am not in a position to pull an axle, in the process of moving to Arizona. Thanks. Dennis J.

    I'm not sure either! Moser says 68-72. The 65 maybe shorter. Can you take out an axle shaft and measure from that housing? These are 30 1/16"

    Without my digging through old notes, would these axles fit the OEM 12-bolt that I sourced from a '65 Chevelle? Thanks.
