Just got her for my 50th in great shape. Engine has been replaced with a crate 350, 3 speed turbo 450 transmission. Lots of little things to fix but over all, an awesome car!

Picture 1966 Goat-a-mino
In 1990 I built this one-off 'what if Chevrolet had shared the El Camino with Pontiac...hmmm'. I started with a 1966 El Camino rolling body shell and added everything GTO/Pontiac to it. The interior is all '67 GTO - gauge/tack cluster (because the A-body firewall is generic between GM Divisions I replaced the Chevelle metal dash with a '67 GTO piece); console with Hurst H/H shifter; PUI door panels and seat skins; and also perked it up with 1967 correct original tilt column, PW, PSeat (driver), AM/FM radio, and headrest buckets. Drive-train is a '66 GTO 389 with '65 Tri-power, TH-400 from a '69 GTO, and a 3.23 Safe-T-Track from a '67 GTO. Suspension is fast-ration steering box, large front sway bar andrear sway bar, a compete power disc-brake change-over from a '69 GTO, and Rally I wheels from a '67 GTO. The grille is from a '66 Canadian Beaumont and is a simple bolt-in. Pontiac of Canada used Chevrolet bodies but made distinctive Pontiac styled grilles and taillights, and the Beaumont is the Intermediate body so the grille fits perfectly in the El Camino opening. I think it looks very much like a '65 GTO grill but for the horizontal headlights. In the photos I not yet mounted the grille trim, AM/FM or connected the AC. This car has been a lot of fun, it's basically my daily driver and Home Depot hauler. GTO people eat it up and Chevy people are totally bewildered by it. I can't count the number of times I've come out of Home Depot or wherever and found some Chevy guy looking inside or staring at the grille. And too, when driving and a Chevy pulls past it usually slows down and the guy's head is hanging out the window looking at the grille... fun. I'm currently (Jan 2012) building a fresh engine for the car, a 428 with Edelbrock aluminum heads, HO round port exhaust manifolds, good street cam, and a Q-jet on an original '72 HO intake. I considered using the tri-power but decided against it because the gas in the end carbs goes stale if you don't get in it a lot, so Q-jet it is.

Picture My Daughters New 1975 Trans Am
She had to have a Pontiac to cruise in!

1975 Trans Am, 400 auto. A all numbers matching car that needs a small amount of TLC.
