Default Facebook scam?

This facebook page showed up on my news feed: Classic Auto Parts For Sale
I am in the process of doing a purchase. The e mail address I have been given via messaging to do a paypal transaction is different than the e mail shown on the facebook page. Tons of pics of classic parts. Any chance some one took the time and effort to find pics of hundreds of parts and post them on facebook to scam buyers? (The parts seem very reasonable including shipping.) The seller seems anxious to complete a deal.

Use google lens on posted pictures , that will show you where the pictures come from. If they have been copied from another legitimate ad somewhere on the web, that what most scammers on marketplace do. Tons and tons of those ads these days

Anxious seller?

Wake up, you’re being scammed.

It’s worth someone’s time to be a picture collector to take money from foolish buyers.

Don’t be that fool.

I got a hint when I was messaged to send money to Phyllismuthami11@gmail.com, which is not the email for the FB user. Stopped right there.

All of the "Parts for Sale" places that have ads on Facebook are scams. I am in several 6th Gen Camaro groups. There are a lot of them that put ads in these groups. They almost always turn commenting off. They do that so people can't warn others of their scams. Most of the individuals that list parts are scammers too. I have seen messages describing how the scams work. They "sell" you a part at a decent price and say they use a shipping company to do their shipping. The shipping company then charges an outrageous shipping fee above what you and the seller agreed on.

Anyone’s email with the name “Phyllismuthami11” in it and using gmail on top of that is a scammer even if the emails match.

Pete’s sake……

The internet is like the Wild West.

Someone can rob you from across the globe, they don’t need to come to your home or find you out in the streets.

I deal face to face, or with a reputable well known company, and I call and speak to a human. Only online thing I do is with PY, long standing well known members. Yea I’m a dinosaur, but I’ve never been burned. I work too hard for my money than to throw it at someone I have no idea who they are.

Facebook is quickly becoming nothing but scammers and t-shirt hustlers.
