Valve Cover Baffle Location
I have not been on for a while due to various life changes but now I'm getting back to some maintenance on my '76 T/A (400ci).
The valve cover on the drivers side was leaking so I figured the gasket was gone, and it is. I took the valve cover off and cleaned it but now when putting it back on, I'm questioning if the baffles go on the top or bottom. When I took it off, they were on the bottom but after doing some research, I think they should be on top. *They may be called drippers, not sure.* What is the correct way? |

The drippers should be located above the rocker balls so they can do their job, so install the covers in the correct orientation to accomplish that.

That is what I thought but started to doubt myself. Thanks b-man.

Turns out that maybe the drive train was modified in the past because with them up, the rockers come in contact with the baffles so I put them on the bottom.
