Wheel spacers
My mechanic recently put a new disc brake conversion on my 55 4dr chieftain wagon. My stock wheels are not clearing the new calipers. He said we need to find at least 1 1/2” spacers. Having a heck of a time finding them. Could anyone point me in the right direction? I’d really like to keep the stock wheels. Thank you!

Are you running fullwheel covers on your wagon?
If so then forgo the spacers and just find a pair of later model steel 15” wheels with the clearance for the calipers, your wheel covers will snap right onto pretty much any 15” wheel. If I’m reading correctly you say you need 1.5” wheel spacers? If that truly the case then you’re going to be buying wheel adapters that serve as a spacer. I had a pair made about a decade ago by this company, they’ll make anything you want: https://www.wheeladapter.com It might look a bit strange after you space the front wheels outward by one and a half inches on each side. Compared to where the rear wheels sit you might not be happy with the look.

that, and you will be riding on the outer bearing - way too small for the load.
What kit was this? What did it use? |
