Would this be a California car, or 48 state?

There is the a canister for sale with brackets for a californai firebird in parts for sale section if that helps, I dont think 48 state cars have that stuff, they got a return line going to the fuel tank for fume vapor I think but Im a rookie at this stuff.

You would likely need to be looking for someone with a Van Nuys built and/or California sold 70 RA III. I would also bet the build time frame is going to make a difference.
My RAIII Formula is Van Nuys built and sold in Cali with a 5D build date, and is largely unrestored with factory paint markings still present on the front suspension and a few other places but I don't recall seeing much of anything on the fuel system itself. Over the last nearly 30 years of ownership I've had to replace the charcoal cannister, install a new fuel tank, and a new fuel pump, but the rest of the system is still the 52 year old OEM system. |

I may be comparing apples to oranges but here is my 70 El Camino, 03B built in Van Nuys, with the NA9 emissions option.
I have every reason to believe the fuel evaporative system was untouched and the markings are original. It even has the bottom cover for the canister. However, I cannot verify the hoses are original.. With that being said, is it possible that Van Nuys would buy their hoses from the same vendor and distribute it for both Chevrolet and Pontiac lines? Due to age and cracking, I did replace the white lined vacuum hose and clamps.

I have seen cars built in Ca for Delivery in TX or NV that , as yours, did NOT have the EEC, as it didnt have to.
Meanwhile Norwood WAS installing EEC on cars headed to the Bay area and north.

NA9 was an option in 1970. Required option for cars sold in California irregardless of what plant they were built at.
