70 Firebird Dash
Is there any restoration service that works on the wood grain portion of the dash?

Mine was peeling on the left side, and started (iirc) near the headlight switch, so I ended up finding a replacement from a member here. that is a 73/74 part.

I have a sticker printer and maybe in future I could re create the grain style of the 70 and strip old reinstall sticker and the varnish 3 or 4 layers of clean. It sounds like fun to me. I know it will not be factory but it might look cool for a good driver. I always since a boy had at least too. My dad's getting a little upset with me and changing the car around he always says ,"I had it all stock, son"

I've looked into re-doing one using water transfer printing/hydrographics...100s of different films available, including many different woods.

I used the inlay from YearOne and it matched nicely.

No, it was a nice warm brown, almost a perfect color match to the original.

Considering that there were six different patterns/grains of the wood pattern...

x2 stock was simply a vinyl sheet heated around raised edges and trimmed after wrapping over cut outs. No reason you can't strip peeling original and replace with correct woodgrain sheet to match era. I redid my custom 78 dash with rosewood sheet from a stockist that supplied furniture and cabinet makers, a fraction of the price and probably similar product to one stocked by a restoration shop. I wouldn't want one pre-cut, if that's how they come.

I have a couple of the early wood bezels. They're definitely a lot different comprehension to the later style.
