Default Fan Belt Type and Width

I have always ran a 7570 Gates XL, Part Number 11A1450, and it seems a little too narrow in the pullies.

This is a cogged belt, and it now is starting to squeal probably due to age and stretching a bit. It is now out of adjustment.

What is the correct width belt used on these cars?

AMA Specs for '65 says angle of the "V" is 36 degrees for all belts.
Power steering says the width is .47"
Fan, Water Pump, & Generator shows 2 widths, .38" and .47" based on belt length:

54.0" , 50.5", & 51.5" are all .38" in width
63.5" & 56.4" are all .47" in width.

My experience with Gates belts is that they are too narrow. Many of the belts are measured in MM's. The Gates belts on my '68 sat too low in the groove and were actually riding more on the center spool rather than the V-groove of the pulley.

I found that the Dayco top cogged belts worked best and slipping and high RPM flipping of the belt stopped with these belts on my car.

Straight from the Dayco website, for a '65:

Accessory Drive Belt Fan, Alternator and Power Steering, w/A.C.: 15555
Accessory Drive Belt Fan and Alternator, w/o P.S.: 15545
Accessory Drive Belt Fan and Alternator, w/P.S., w/o A.C.: 15505
Accessory Drive Belt Power Steering, w/o A.C.: 15515

These are all top cog belts, not sure if I like that appearance.
But at least a bit wider than my Gates!

Thanks.
