Default Annoying Microsoft Update pop-up (pest), how do I get rid of it?

For the last 3-4 weeks, I have this utterly non-pertanant window show up every time I boot up my computer. It's like those annoying pop-up ads that force you to X off at the beginning of YouTube videos.

An update for Microsoft Office Starter 2010 - English is now available online.
Please remain connected to the internet for the duration of the update.
Do you wish to start downloading now?

Unfortunately, there is no option to tell it Don't Tell Me Again.
Is there some procedure in 'My computer' properties settings that I can go into to disable this neausance?
At some point, I might have clicked an "Allow Updates" prompter just to quickly view a web page that I don't normally visit, such as a news video acompanying a story.

Thanks

I would contact Microsoft to make sure it is a legitimate update. If it is I don't see a problem with it. Something seems a little fishy to me though. It may be a scam.

seems fishy to me.

i'd go the distance to ensure it is NOT connected to the internet on startup;
see if the popup shows up any different;
I would also look at task manager to see what is running when that pops up;
my gut says this is malware.
