72 Headliner Bow Clips
Tried the search...nothing definitive. I seem to see first gen parts. Got some from NPD and they are not the same as the ones that were in there originally. Does anybody know where a guy might find these? Most of the ones that were in there sort of disintegrated.

there was someone selling them here recently...
have you looked in the for sale forum, and done a search? I believe that they are the same parts for 1970 through to mid year 1973.

Are these clips different than 1970? If 70 will work I believe I have a complete set of bows and clips. I will look tonight.

FA677AM is what is originally used in the car. However new ones I have here have a much smaller hole diameter, which makes the clips too tight to work the headliner.
Here are pictures comparing the reproduction clips to the one original that actually came out of the car in one piece. As you can see the hole in the original is larger, and slides nicely on the bows so you can work the headliner side to side. New clip is a smaller hole, too tight to the point it takes guerilla force to even slide it a 1/4 inch. That's just not going to work when working wrinkles out of the headliner. Here is another picture comparing original to reproduction.
The opening on the reproduction is almost closed while the original has a larger opening. With the original it's relatively easy to snap the bows into place. With the reproduction, it's impossible to snap the bows in, even with persuasion from a screw driver and hammer. Even if it did snap in, it' grips the bows so tight because the hole is smaller, the headliner absolutely won't move. Last edited by Formulajones; 10-25-2018 at 12:28 PM. |

Hesitant to buy anymore reproduction clips from any supplier because descriptions are vague, no mention of hole sizes or any other differences, so pretty sure I'll wind up in the same situation with another set.

I looks this morning. I found my spare set of bows, but I can not find the clips.
Sorry I could not help out, but if the clips surface I will let you know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
