71 Pontiac Ventura
I'm in need of some parts or information on the shift linkage on my Ventura.
It's got a 350 Pontiac motor and a 350 trans, It is column shifted, but my linkage that go's from the frame to the trans won't clear the headers. Do the poncho powered Venturas call for a special linkage, It looks like it needs to have a curve to go over the shift linkage? Any help from you guy's out there would be appreciated. Thanks GT. |

Thanks, Maybe as a last resort. I would like to do it with factory parts if
they made them, Any one else know of the part I need or have one? GT. |

I had the same problem with my old 73 Ventura. Shift linkage wouldn't clear the headers. As I recall (it was 27 years ago) I was able to bend the linkage to clear, but it didn't work real well. I put a floor shifter in it, and eventually converted to Ram Air manifolds and a 4 speed.

Well I thought they made a factory piece but I'm not having any luck. LOL
Thanks for all the info guy's, May be I'll try Slicks advise it looks like a trick piece and something that'll work good too. GT. |

What headers are you using? I used Hooker super comp on my Ventura and had no problem with my column shift.
