great photos! thanks for posting.
i've often wondered, but have no idea - anyone have any ideas how many T/As were 'abused' during filming? can't begin to imagine how many times i watched that movie...

I was always told that all of the Pontiacs used in the filming were crushed at a junkyard in Jonesboro, GA at the conclusion of the filming. This was directed by PMD, due to liability reasons. Witnesses said that parts were stolen off the crushed heaps, so those parts still might exist to this day. It would be hard to prove that they were removed from said cars.
Also, the 6.6 Litre shaker callouts were also used on the base 180 HP Trans Ams in 1977, along with the Oldsmobirds.
