Default TH 400 id

Trying to ID my TH400, the side tag is missing and can't seem to locate the P code. I've always thought it was the original short shaft from my 69 but now I'm not so sure. I've done an Internet search but still haven't seen where the P code is located, any ideas?
Thanks

Normal location. This was restored and I don't know what color it's stenciled. Look for your partial VIN stamped on the transmission by the shifter arm (drivers side).

No stamp on mine and it's not looking like the vin is correct, now just want to know what it may be from, I've had car since 1988 and I've had it rebuilt thinking back then it was original then put it on a shelf unused until now

Partial VIN should at least tell you a year and maybe style by plant it was built at.

X143739 is the partial vin, also cast on the casing on top rear in front of the tail shaft housing is BZ AL and a CR above that. I've Internet searched and haven't fount anything with these codes. It's definitely a Pontiac TH 400 short

I found what I think is a date pad that has 2-71 and 15 in the circle so I'm guessing this is a 71 and my car is a 3rd week of March 69 seems to be missing a couple numbers in front of the X according to tin Indian performance. Am I wrong in my thinking?

An X in the VIN indicates a plant that produced full size vehicles (long tailshaft). I think it's been replaced.

From what I seen X was Kansas City plant, this deffinatly is a short tail shaft. Oh well I guess it really won't matter, I was thinking about keeping it in with the column shift and bench seat if it was the original but I have a correct date coded 4 sp and all the parts for a change over since it won't be original anyway now,
Thanks for all the help
