Default More salvage yard pictures

I posted some pictures a few weeks ago of some cool stuff that I found in a salvage yard here in Wyoming. I went back out there today and took some more pictures to share with the rest of you. I need someone to identify the white Ford for me.

Totally cool

Lots of potential

Opals, Vegas,Olds, and a Dodge somewhere in the background

My next project?

Floors are all but gone. Cannot believe trees are not growing in here.

Repost

I'm not so sure that this one can be buffed out.

This one could be brought back to life.

Look at the body lines. Those days are gone.

I like it!

One of 4 or 5 Novas out here

And one of the reasons I went back out there today. The grill is about the best thing left of this old milk truck. The sides, roof,l doors were made of wood with metal skin over them. Just sitting out in Southwest Wyoming passing the time away.

The white Ford will fall very close to a '46. Might be a Super Deluxe, the emblem would be on the left fender front by the grill. Would have been a V8 flat head.
At my shop I have pictures of one I looked at a couple of weeks ago.

It's a 41. Check out the tail light housing.

It appears 1942 changed tail light housings and dash.

The 42 dash appears to be the same as the one in my 47. The dash pictured in the car above does not look like the 46/47 dash.

I could spend a few hours there. Looks very unorganized. New junk mixed in with the old stuff.

Thanks Bob. Knowing the car makers didn't make huge changes post war I wasn't sure where it would fall. Pictures of the '46 show some of the differences you mentioned. Compared to the white car (probably a standard model), the Super Deluxe was loaded with trim.

Cool pics. You just don't see any of that old iron on the east coast.Your lucky if you see a car from the late 70's. They all were crushed long ago. The few bone yards that have cars/trucks from the 50's/60's won't let you in that section. If they have it they will escort you to the car,let you inspect the part, then pull it for you.

the quarter on that lemans looks really nice. I always loved going to the salvage yards in Colorado and Wyoming they always had such nice dry metal. most of the cars had good ratio posi rear ends in them also.

The horns in the 2nd picture - These were attached to picture #1. You guys are telling me that this is a 41 Ford. Was this a 6 or a 12 volt system? I had to have them. I gave the guy 20 bucks them.

I think Ford went to 12v in 1955-56. The guy who rebuilt the 47 I now own said it had a 6v system in it.

Cool

Great pix! Thx for sharing them.

My WAG on the Green Dodge engine would be a slant 6, 225 CID IIRC?, as most all were equipped in that vintage and millions of them on America's road as daily driver econo vehicles...now hardly seen.

I hope you were able to get something off the front end of that International. The nose of that truck is so cool.

6 volt horns will work on 12 volts, but they will sound like a bleating goat.
