New member but long time Pontiac Enthusiast
Hello all, my name is Chris and I am a fellow Pontiac lover and gear head in general. So far, my prior owned Pontiacs are a 69 Firebird 400 4-spd (originally on OHC-6 car, collision totalled in 1992 and parted out), 1968 Firbird 400 / TH400 / A/C, 1968 Firebird 350 / TH350 / Vinyl Top, and 1965 Lemans HO 326.
I currently have a 1964 GTO Hardtop, Fremont built Black/Black 4spd Tri-Power car. I bought this car with the insurance money from my totalled 69 bird back in 1993. Original drivetrain long gone. I bought this car in pieces and it is still in pieces . After owning it for 20 years and never having the pleasure of driving it, putting a plan together now to get it going! Also have a 1964 GTO Sedan, Black/Black 4spd. I bought this car last October as a "parts car". It was complete but rough. Body is rusty in many multiple of areas and has had a rough life overall. I have big plans for the 64 i've owned since 93, and unfortunately i'm not independently wealthy so this car is going to take me a little while but hopefully not another 20 years! In the mean time, i've decided to get the 64 Sedan running and drive it while i'm working on the Hardtop car. This will help keep the excitement alive! Pics and more info to come on my projects... Planning to go to the Pontiac gathering at Hooters in Costa Mesa this Saturday in my buddies 64 Lemans. His car we just converted to a M-21 4spd, put a 4.11 posi 12 bolt in the back, tubular control arms in the front, and BOSS 18" wheels. It is a work in progress but it runs and drives and we are having fun with it. We are SoCal residents so we are regulars at "Crusin Grand" on Friday nights in Escondido. Hope to meet some of you guys some time! |

I tried that plan, didn't work for me. Instead of getting my 67 GTO done, I kept fixing my "substitute cars". First was a 65 GTO convertible, then a 70 442, followed by a Hurst/Olds. Right now I want to tear apart my 72 Grand Prix, but I'm refraining until the GTO is further along.

Chris - Is your buddy's name Jeff? If so I met him this morning at RCS Fab in Escondido. I plan on having my '64 GTO at Cruisin' Grand tomorrow night, look me up. I usually park on North Broadway.
