Seeing as how my '67 had rust on everything but the air in the flat tires, I've done everything I can think of to get rid of it and keep it from reappearing. Nearly every component that would fit into a blasting cabinet (and a lot that wouldn't) was painted with Chassis Saver afterward.

I wound up putting two coats on the front subframe and it looks as good now as it did a year and a half ago, although it is yet to be put back on the car. One thing Chassis Saver has in common with POR-15, though, is that it is UV-sensitive, and will turn to a light grey after prolonged exposure to light. What I plan to do is scuff it up and hit it with a couple of coats of Eastwood Extreme Chassis Black satin. I've read a lot of good stuff about it here and on other forums. Good luck!

I had mine blasted and powdercoated black here locally at a shop that has a nice big blast room and a very large oven.

I used POR 15, then top coated all visible parts with POR 15 gloss black top coat. Goes on nice and is tough stuff.

I have several different products over the years. Zero Rust works very well for a 1k product. It and the Rustoleum are very easy to use. I have also used PPG DP-90 and Master Series.

This is the best way to go. 400.00 (where I live) to do the frame, upper and lower control arms and trans crossmember. To me thats money well spent.

I sandblasted mine and sprayed with por-15 and top coated with por-15 blackcoat.
It came out great and is real hard and tough.
I seen my friend above 71 lemans frame after being powdercoated and that looks awesome.
The only down side of the por-15 or any other paint is that it can be effected by brake fluid.I had a brake line go and it melted or bubbled the por-15.My whhel wells are powdercoated and they were not affected by the brake fluid.
So,if i had to do it again,i would have powdercoated the frame.Other then the brake fluid,thepor-15 is tough and is nearly impossible to chip even if you hit it with a hammer.
Here are a couple pics of my frame por-15.
Also did the bottom of my car.

I highly recommend Bill Hirsch Chassis Black or Miracle Paint. I just shot my engine bay with Chassis Black this weekend and it lays smooth as silk with a super satin finish. Been in business 40 years with quality products. Go to their site or send me a PM...I rep their products.

Here's a pic of the engine bay.
