i have a distributor part # 1111946 with 8L6 is this a judge or reg gto and is the last part a date code if so what does it break down to be thanks

You have a 69 Automatic Ram Air III or H.O. Distributor for Firebird, and GTO. 8L6 brakes down to Dec 08, 1968 so you could say that this would also be a Early Automatic Judge Dist as well.

Until you can prove they used I in the date coding of distributors, I would say the unit was assembled on Nov. 6, 1968.

if that is the case,M would have to be for december,never saw an M date code.

I agree, I have never seen an M date code before on a Dist..... but you never know as they did crazy things back then
