Default How rare is a 73 Brewster Green Trans am

I have noticed a couple of cars on ebay recently that are brewster green Trans ams. They are always advertised as extremely rare Trans ams because they are brewster green. Does anyone know how many were made and are they one of the hardest trans ams to find. Is Brewster Green a one year color. Thanks.

There are no production numbers available via color for 1973. The three colors went (most popular) Red, White, Brewster thus being rare.
Some collectors say thats only for non-SD's and that more green cars where made in that model then White or Red, however I believe only 42 cars +/- where made and know of only eleven being manual that still exist.
The world may never know!

Are you saying that you believe only 42+/- Brewster green T/A's were made including the non super duties and if so how did you come up with that number.

The only way to know for sure would be to cull through all of PHS's invoices and count as it seems that Pontiac never officially published the breakdown.
I do have some info that may help however...Transamric and I have been recording data on 70-73 F cars (VIN, color codes, etc) for many, many years. We have a data base that includes colors for 233 actual 73 TAs that one or the other of us have inpected and recorded. Of these cars 106 are red (45%), 73 are white (31%) and 54 are green (23%).
The other thing to consider is statistics. This sample represents a "population" of cars that we have witnessed. It cannot be determined how representitive this sample is of all 73 TAs that were produced. For example, a disproportionate number of Green cars may have avoided the crusher because of the beleif that they were more "rare" and worth saving. It is impossible to know for sure. It is clear that many more than 42 Brewter Green cars were made (maybe as many as 4772 x .23 = 1097).
This is probably as good an estimate as is available short of going through all of the PHS invoices.

The number 42 is representing Super Duties (only) and I would reflect to Giles information for a complete listing of 455 cars.
There was a post not to long ago on PY that had a large number of listings in some other Forum registry?

Hey Brew, I used to be in a TA club in Texas and we had an old guy in the club who had a couple of GTOs and Firebirds. He was big into Pontiacs and had been for years. He seemed to think around 30 of the green SDs were made but I can't remember where he had gotten the information from. I think it was a common belief among the guys in the local POCI chapter he ran with. Anyway its pretty close to your estimate so I'd think that's pretty close.

The only number of Brewster Green '73s I care about is the number of them currently sitting in my driveway and right now that's 0 so I've got to do something about that

Hey John,

I don't have my Brewster car listed in the registry. I'm sure there are others as well. By the way, did you ever put that blower on anything?

Tim.
