Default Header clearance.........

.....trying to get my freshly built 400 runnin. Got a set of headers from Mark @ MadDog, very good quality btw. My problem is on the passenger side, the motor mount is hitting the header, see pics. The forward bolt is in the block, but with the motor still on the hoist, the back mount bolt is still a little over 1/2" below the hole in the block. I'm waiting to hear from Mity Mount, but wanted to throw this out here. Do the Mity Mnts or any other mounts have the same dimensions as stock? It appears that with the new headers, which have much thicker flanges, 5/16 and going with bigger tubes 2" is causing clearance issue. So I guess my question is, is there an aftermarket motor mount that is not as "tall" or thick. I need about 3/4; to clear the mount and fire this new build up. Clear as mud??

Have you discussed this with MadDog?

Kel,

I'd contact Mad Dog! You could always get busy with a grinder on the motor mount if you wanted. Can't believe there is so much trouble with fitment....

Went through the same problem on the drivers side with the gear box clearance with hedman and the pass side there pipe is in the way of the oil filter sent them back like you should do with the mad dogs ,and order from butler for $599. 1 7/8 dougs headers. They fit my 69 fb like a glove and a butler oil filter adaptor made it so I can use stock size oil filter and when I change the filter I don't even get oil on the ceramic headers.
