It fit right on, has a good finish. Should be a minimal amount of work before paint. I didn't want a 6" and I wanted a bolt on, so this is a bolt on with a scoop added. The scoop is open on the bottom will need to make a plate for the carb. Now I got room to grow.

Looks great!

Did you save much in weight over the steel hood? I took my stock hood off a few weeks ago and I didn't think it was very heavy. Where is the best place to trim weight from these cars? Hood, bumpers, deck lid?

535 with canted heads.....Sounds like fun. I might buy a set of those canted heads too if they become available before my crankshaft arrives.

I'm sure I gained a little. But not as much as a person would think. I would have kept the stock hood but thought it was choking my carb with only an inch or two of clearence. I have heard the doors are heavy, but don't have the heart to change them, to me that really takes away from a streetable image. I also put a rack on the front, between it and the hood I am hopeing for -125 Lbs.

without a doubt.....doors. when you take items like fenders off sometimes you're surprised to find out that they're actually pretty light. You take a door off and you'll need help. You could leave the stock hood and fenders on but take off the bumper, doors and windshield and lose a lot.
