Default Hyd Roller 10/11 sec cars?

I find all the talk about hydraulic roller cams interesting, anyone with a 10 or 11 second N/A street/strip combo care to share? I like the idea of smooth AND fast. Just don't want to slow down -LOL. -Jim

Plenty of LS1/LS2/LS6/LS7 powered cars in the 11's...no reason a Pontiac couldn't benefit from it.

I ran 11.80s with 238/242 HR at 5200' altitude 462 with 16 d-ports. Not a street car but 3550 lbs.

Our GrandPrix has one and runs 11.8s weighing 4150lbs. No reason why one couldnt run 10s with one. The only problem is they dont like alot of rpm so you need to keep that in mind.

Thumbs up

Got 2 cars with my 505 crate engines running into the 10's with hyd rollers.
Pump gas too.

My personal IA combo ran 10.50's on pump gas with my custom hyd roller shifting at 6000 rpm. 3560 lbs. If I would have had the right tranny and gear I think it would have run right close to 10 flat or even 9's.

But it did pull to 7000 rpms without issues. Just when we went to the chassis dyno the curve was flat from 5800 to 6600 then started to drop.

P-body built me a 406 with #16's and a hyd roller that went 11.20's in a 3315Lb firebird back in 98. I believe it was 11:1 comp. Ran it for about 6 years and sold it to my brother who still runns it on the street. I did spray it a couple of times with a 175hp and went some 10.40's. It was a comp cust grind.

I ran 10.79 with a Magnun 305 hydraulic. I would think a hydraulic roller would be faster. ??

fasteddy, where do you all hang out over there? I will be in Longmont again in May and June, figure I'd check out the scene.

Also, have you seen the 77 Can Am running around there?

BTW, I have a 230/238 UD HR, but can't seem to make it to the track

You guys realize them roller lifters will fling right apart at anything over 5000 rpm.

my converter flashes to almost 5000 rpm. does that mean my roller lifters are coming apart all the way down the track on every pass?

Why not a solid roller? You already have a solid flat?

Why not go to a solid roller, I ran a comp 288R duration .244 @ .050 and .550 lift with 1.5 rockers. Idle was fine and very streetable and ran
11.17 with cast heads and at 3650 lbs. A 100hp shot went 10.28.
