If the part number is for '73-4 only, then it's dated '79. I was thinking you were trying to read it as 9th of Oct., 1972.

I was, I’m thinking it’s dated for a 73 model, book has 73/74, 70-72 was a different number. I

The books I looked thru has it not showing up until the '83 version. So, it has to be later than '76 and was a replacement for earlier years of '73-up.
