Does anyone know what the tagged codes mean? Are they order #s or destinations? A certain protocol?

Not a clue basically.

I'd say the 79899 is a zone/dealer number (zone 79 dealer #899)
I'd also say that is where it would be shipped to.
The other pics posted earlier had 79322 which they seemed to have went to the UK. So the 322 dealer number may be for that dealer that imported it? (Kingston On Thames?)

The 200183 is also in the 'Memo' field.
I'd think that would be a document that tells what/where the car is going?
(and who bought it and more?)

So many things we are not sure about.

Do we know what dealer that is? If we did and we look at the destination charge as mentioned seems like it would be deep Fla or tx and that lines up with that dealer code it would be a clue anyway.... and help to explain some of this.

We don't know the dealer. (unfortunately) At least from PHS
The zone (79) is a non-regional area I would think?
Just used to give the car a 'destination', they possibly didn't actually know where it was going, but it was supposedly going overseas?
(at the time of the building of the car, or the assembly plant didn't know but accounting probably did? The assembly plant didn't really need that info?)

Who was it that knew someone that may be able to help with this?
(in another thread somewhere)

Earlier in this thread baron was mentioned the destination charge was in line with either tx or deep Fla. Based on other charges, there are military bases in both places. Big presence in tx. So making some assumptions, A. That is car was a military order, with that destination charge it was delivered to a dealer that would work with that charge is another assumption.

John,
oldgoat1 of NC - his father worked in Zone Sales/Distributing Office.

Maybe not much of a role in these Export Order deals - unless their final destination was within that zone.

The ones that went across waters probably never saw any Zone handling of car or order or final paperwork.

I also saw before that not only the actual military personnel - but also their direct family members (mother father wife child - maybe even brothers and sisters) would also qualify for the discount.

This was from GM literature - but more current - maybe the 90's.
Could have been the same in the 60's-70's too.

---------------------------------------
=======================

What i noticed is Jumbs invoice has a misc. $14.75 charge under Invoice Number

The 73 London does not have anything there.

The $14.75 may have been for Dealer Prep
Something that "might" help in future to identify which ones went and which ones stayed here.
All my other export examples are 70-older
Nothing else to properly compare to these 73 / 74 examples.

On 1969 and 1970 Invoices (and maybe further up to 1972)
There is an Export Charge on Invoices
Cars that left the country have the full $15.00 Charge
Cars that stayed within USA - range from $1.00 to $5.00

Looks like at minimum , in 1973 (and maybe a little further back to 1971)
they stopped the EXPORT CHARGE fee altogether.

The vast majority of cars that left - also had KILO speedometers.
The charge was so minimal ($0.12) they may have stopped charging up for that also when they dropped the export charge.

The defining clues are becoming scarcer.

Building the short block now and going to do a short term install of driveline to drive it for the summer (that is the plan anyhow) before making it look pretty.
