68 Jack? What's it Worth?
Hi guys, I've got what I believe is a complete '68 GTO Bumper Jack set. Where can I find part numbers or date codes on it, I briefly looked tonight but didn't see anything. Here's a pic, does it look correct? What's it worth?
Thanks Joe

Hehehe... yep, that's standard procedure these days.
Actually I'm tempted at $150. But I know the jack guru judges would probably want it the right date for my car. |

Curious to know where to find the date codes? Are the 68 and 69 jacks the same? My supposedly 69 jack components look like the 68 shown above.

Date code should be stamped on the head of one of the rivets on the mechanism. It is a letter for the month and a number for the last digit of the year. This is only for these trapazoid mast style jacks. Also the base should be stamped U68, U69, or U70 for these three years only. Possible not all 68 bases were stamped since i am not sure when that started.

Realizing I have no jack for my 68. All these years I thought I had one from my parts car in storage in an out building at my mother in-laws. I looked this weekend & didn't find it. I am bummed & now I need to search for one.
Anybody know a place I can find one? I don't mind restoring one, as long as the rust on it is not deep pits Thanks, 68RT

Carl,
If memory serves it goes like this: Jack is under spare tire diagonally, there is a spot in the trunk floor to follow. Then spare tire, then jack base, then the adapter for the Endura bumper, followed by the wing nut.
