The "Canadian Pacific" Running After 45 years...
Thanks in part from @MUSCLCAH and @sdbob, after having my uncle's 1957 vintage Lionel Canadian Pacific running around our tree. I've had it in my possession for around 20 years and never ran it. This is the first time in almost 45 years that it ran. Here's some still pics and video:

Cool!! That's whipping around pretty fast, you need some more track now. I've got my dad's pre-war Lionel and will be setting it up before our grandson comes over for Xmas.

I was concerned about smoking it after 45 years of storage. It took a few minute until it started to work. Happy it all works!

That is really cool. I like how passenger cars light up. This will bring back some good Christmas memories I hope. Thanks for sharing!

I like that whomever made the fire station had a sense of humor. (Plasticville)

During the Y2K panic, I worked New Year's Eve in the Alyth train yard here in Calgary. I got to wander around that locomotive as it was parked in the shop. At the time, it was used as CP's CEO's personal train.

Very Cool in deed. I was a big collector of HO and N Gauge when I was a Kid
and have quite a collection of first production N-Gauge Passenger and Freight Sets. In HO I have the original TYCO Micado (With TYCO rather than a RR name) and I think it's from 1959. Also have the complete Hooterville Cannonball, that I thought would be valuable. Just a Rare but who cares thing but pretty cool. I remember getting the Micado at Christmas in 1965 and it came in a Cedar Box with a brass TYCO label. Still have the Train but that box is long gone. AHHH the great days of youth. |
