I saw that Trans Am go through last night. There was also a 76 or 77 that brought a lot of money. Very surprising.

Cool

750 miles on it, it went to a Collector. He can super tune it at that 301 forum to stay rite with the 455's. Lmao. That's what they think over there.

The 80 "Turd"bo car at 110k is a bad deal but the 10th at 170k?!, There are many low/no mile 4 spd 10ths across this country....not hard to find one with less than 1k miles.

If you look in the 1980 Pontiac Full line brochure Burt is sitting on one of those, the guy that worked for Pontiac that I bought all my lit from has the lic plate from that picture shoot, he got like 2G's for it from a guy. I sold an orig Royal frame, I didn't get that much, lol

The T/A the burt drove had a big block chevy in when it did the jump & the other 4 cars they wrecked were all 455 cars. That was from an interview I saw from the guy who set up all the stunts for the picture, I can't remember his name but he just recently passed away. But according to him they had to put the big block in it to get enough speed up to make the jump. I think thats bull because any 455 will pull just as hard.

Check deeper I have seen where the engine they used for the jump was a nascar engine they borrowed.

100k for the 80 seems more logical then 175 for the 79. Just saying

Explain this logic? I'm not educated enough to understand 6 figure 79-80 cars yet...

I think Hemmings and Msn both said the later 2nd gens were on the rise so all the guys with more money than good sense jumped. All the guys that had sat on these cars for years, hoping they would surge in price got lucky. Me, I'm going to scour all the local papers and trailer parks before the trickle down auction madness turns $2000 parts cars into $12000, "Waddaya think it would go for at Barrett-Jackson" jokes.

The drinks are flowing in Scottsdale. That's the only explanation I can think of.

Wher can you find any cars with 7 miles on. GF just bought a new Civic, it had 31 on it. Lmao
If I had the money, I'd buy it an have the Trans Am Reaper cut it up at the Trans am nationals. Lol

I Always wonder what the definition of "non-utillaterian item" was, and how much it costs.

7 mile 37 year old TA.

I get it now.

It all depends on your supply of cash. Pratt bought a nsx for a million. Tons of cash = nice Girls, cars, houses, so on.

A black and gold 110k TA really isn't too far away from the 75k that 77-79's SE now bring. The look is about the same, of course underpowered, but whos gonna drive it anyway.175 for any second generation is crazy, unless were talking a super super low mileage SD. And even then , its probably too much,
