Glad I caught that and removed them because some of them had blocked passages that would have resulted in no oil to the lifter and rockers.
Where were these?, and why? I could only imagine a higher pressure, BUT I also imagine aeration of the oil causing lifter collapse as air can compress.. How many did you have and exactly where were they placed?. Was that wild engine a solid lifter set up in the high compression mode it was in?

Well after a engine rebuild and breaking it in trips. She made the long cruise to Dayton... happy with its new feel. Cool and dry at all times. Good gas mileage and quick starts. Very reliable feel and sound.

Thanks! Some have asked about my tires and wheels. The PHS says it's a rally II car. I put the TA radials on 4 correct wheels for cruising more comfortable over long distances...

Mike, that is a beautiful car. Sorry for mixing it up with Dennis Jensen's equally beautiful Canyon Copper Formy in another thread. Both are equally deserving of praise. Can't wait for MCACN! There will be some great Formulas on display.

For me the cruise was the reason for my involvement. Had great partners. Lost the leader and I had to take over. Also, We lost our chance to join the Michigan group too. Somehow we managed and had a great time! Good friends make it all possible. Trophys and trailers are fun too, but not for me...

Was it the fuel pump? Don't feel bad it happens to me all the time. I usually cant make it more than 10 miles from my house without something going wrong.

Obviously that tow truck had a problem with his lift bed and Norwood was nice enough to help him get it level again. But once he did, the bed wouldn't lower back down to the ground again. Yeah that's it!
