On the show C.H.I.P.S. the formula that was owned by Ponch , he bought it at a police auction on the show it had a shaker with the formula scoops in it to. He drove it for the rest of the season. It has several shots through out the show for the remainder of the season.

Another hood that somebody filled in the cowl area, Looks to be salvagable. What were they thinking.

Exactly the reason they should require an I.Q. Test before mailing out a Jegs or Summit Catalog ....The rear under side shot of the rear end looks like a Do & Don't example from the NHRA rule book.

Coat hanger exhaust, roll bar pads on the fuel pump, rusty chassis, #3 lisc plate...6 Pack hood! Racing certified radiator?!?!? ....good grief!

Officer Poncharello's TA/Formula was stolen by a female car thief and suffered the fate of a rollover and explosion while being chased by Jon and Ponch.

See this short clip on YouTube.....Season 2, episode name "Down Time"

Dont forget about the wicked black T/A uh... formula in Corvette Summer.
That car had 71 fender vents, T/A vents, formula hood with shaker...and side pipes.
That black car had made me a firebird fan at age 5 a few years before I even saw smokey & the bandit.

I always thought that Ponch's car and the Corvette Summer car were the same car.
The black car in corvette summer blows up at the end but it is a different stunt car than the one in the chase scene. Some other guys think it was the same car as well.

I think it was Ponch's 80-81 T/A got the fork lift in the door. Good old "Bronze Beauty" LOL!

Somewhere in my garage I have a revell model kit of the 81 Trans Am Ponch had it even has a CHiPs T shirt Iron-On inside the box and Eric Estrada on the box....friggin awesome.

What was this thread about again?
