No prob and no offense, OMT. I admit my ability to pick out earlier than a '60/'61 is pretty suspect! (lol)

I love finding the cars in these pictures, too. That was really what generated the whole thread: the realization of how prevalent these old Pontiacs were in our daily lives back then. Some of these pictures you'll find two or three old Pontiacs in there.

Dennis - thanks for the insights into Springfield Ozarks Dragway and Dave Goldsberry. My parents are from the "bootheel", btw

60sstuff - love the little black '64 in your second pic!

Default 64 Pontiac display - too cool

Couple of observations:
Believe the Stick City dealership shown is featured in a history of the Beach
Boys video that has Carl Wilson showing up at the dealership and looking at a couple of cool cars including a Safari wagon with air bags and a "4 speed, dual quad, etc. 409."

The very first photo of the nose bleed GTO reminded me of a guy I knew when I was at Univ of Ga, named Brandon Shields. He had a '68 four speed GTO with this same look. Offered to give me and another friend a ride back to dorm one day after class. Pulled out of Pharmacy building parking lot onto street and nailed it. Thing must have been running 4:88 rear end , 'cause he ran through all four gears in about 100 feet!
