Buy ACI cushions. Better and firmer foam.

ACI for a sure thing quality/fit/feel. If I were to gamble on any other set of foams it would be these (also USA made) : https://www.thorntonmusclecars.com/p...foam-full-slot
A dead giveaway that a seat foam is questionable in fit or quality is if they simply lump their cushions into one category… “66-72”. The link above actually has a decent breakdown for the differences in those cushions vs model year (pasted below). Smooth or no slots seat foams 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass / 442 Supreme and Convertible 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass S / 442 (Fastback), Cutlass Supreme and Convertible 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass S / 442 (Fastback), Cutlass Supreme and Convertible 1971 and 1972 Chevy Chevelle 1971 and 1972 Buick Skylark Half Slots seat foams are an Oldsmobile only foam 1968 and 1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass / 442 1970 Oldsmobile Cutass S / 442 (Fastback) Full slot seat foams 1966 and 1967 Oldsmobile Cutlass / 442 1966 to 1970 Chevy Chevelle 1966 to 1971 Chevy Nova (Excluding 1967 Nova SS) 1966 to 1969 Chevy Impala 1966 to 1969 Pontiac Tempest / LeMans / GTO 1966 to 1970 Buick Skylark |

The ones in link assuming as pictured appear as full slots - should be good for my 66. Who knows about firmness though?

Bought some foam for my Le Mans convertible buckets from Ames a couple weeks ago. Ordered complete Legendary upholstery in Saddle at the same time, about an 8 month wait for that.
They have a cheaper and a correct seat foam option in their catalog so of course I chose the best one. So at least my heap will have a nice interior.

I unfortunately don’t have any first hand experience with them yet. I will be ordering a set for a spare pair of ‘67 buckets I have lying around if I ever get some free time. From what I read, some industry people at least sounded hopeful about them as an option, but they didn’t have any experience using them yet. |

I ended up buying a set from Thornton Muscle Cars off the link “Entropy11” posted. According to the site they are made in Philly area - I live in Maryland and had them in 2 days. https://www.thorntonmusclecars.com/p...foam-full-slot
Prior to ordering I called Ames and discussed their inexpensive option- the rep said the China sourced seat foam smells very strongly of polyurethane. I’m happy to say the Thornton foam looks fantastic and doesn’t have any smell.
