I listed this radiator core support for sale sometime ago but i was told it was for a 1973 firebird and not for a 70-72. It has a date code of 120772. I was trying to find a correct core support for my 75. Every time I search for a 75 core support it list 73-76 to be correct. It looks like the one I took off the car but not like the one I listed for sale. Could someone tell me if a 73 is different from a 74-76.??? As you can see in the pictures its totally different. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If its not correct for 72 then whats it for???
The last picture is the one that came on the car. The first four pictures were giving me with the car and said to be correct. I'm confussed

Im no expert but when I needed a support for my 73 I found a nice 76 and was told it would work so I bought it. when I got it home I compared and the only difference I could find was the piece if metal that extends on each end of the support. The first pics shown are a 73 core support.
I have read that they were put there to try help direct more air to the rad and out the extractors. Whether or not that is the true function I am not sure.
All I know is I have a 76 rad support in my 73 and it works just fine.

Unless you are building a concourse car either one will work in your 75 and you won't see the difference unless you really try hard.

1970-72 firebirds did not have the large fender to core support bars and therefore did not have the depression on either side on the top that the bars fit into if that makes sense.

A '73 is similar to the '74, '75 and '76 units. Each may be a little different as far as bolt holes. Here is a picture of a '74 for comparison. Notice larger hole cut.

I would have placed on your eBay ad that you reserve to end the auction early because you have it listed locally because you are looking to trade for a '75 support in similar condition.
