Default Door Jamb vents

Has anyone tried the OER or another reproduction brand of the door jamb vents? I had a set from several years ago, only just decided to test fit and found no chance of slipping into place, both sides. The stamped panel is thicker than the spacing between the tabs. It even cut into the flange of the rear tab to show it needed at least 1/3 of its thickness filed back to start to fit, and yet this was still only installing on one corner first, not both, and the tabs taper to thicker as it slips in. No chance.

Naturally, my almost perfect original set were sold or given away years ago prior to testing. Standard.

I also see that many stock photos appear to show a NOS type that has the screw holes recess, mine does not. I'm not aware of any changes. Even those that claim to carry their own brand of these still appears to be the same pieces from same factory.

Anyone have further info
More trivia, I have not checked to confirm this.

NPD / AMK list this as the 70-76 version of screw used, #8 x 3/8" screw.

They list this as the 77-81 version, a metric M4.2 x 13.

Anyone have further info, original screws used on theirs or fit of reproductions? Massive dramas or fit like a glove?

I have extras I collected from the years when the cars were still in the junkyards! I even threw a couple away last month when going through my extra parts - are you interested?

Thanks, I ended up buying another used set along with international shipping. Was more trying to compare the new vents, one of which I later broke trying to test fit. I just found it hard to believe no one could bother to open a door to simpy look or respond, anyway over it now. Less forum replies and helping from here on.

Shipped a used set around the world as Americans are too lazy to open a door or remove a single screw. Yes, there's differences. I won't post.

Cars are still in stg.*♂️

You’re looking for vents for a 1980? You didn’t get ahold of me, I hunt down parts all the time for people. Also, your post is confusing, I’m not sure what year you are looking for.

You gotta admit, the pic uploader on this forum is a PITA. it needs to be updated. When I click on the pic it goes all over the screen and disappears. And it’s multi steps trying to upload.

Ended up cracking one of the OER unit right through trying to file it to fit.

And I already have a set of used units just arrived. Naturally they are nowhere near the condition of my originals I probably gave away.

Yes, there's differences and how many of these have they sold and no one else has had a drama or noticed? Lots. Half the shops don't even know what type they sell, all reusing the same stock photos that are not the same as what they sell in regards to countersunk screw hole or flat.

I emailed about 6 different sellers, one response, and they didn't have a clue and weren't prepared to check.

The differences are with the OER reproduction version, not GM. Looks like about 4 of his are cracked, blurry pic though.
