It's not an easy task. You must remove the driver's side lower IP panel as well as the A/C lower AC ducts, glove box door and glove box liner. I found it easier to also remove the dash plate and center A/C vents and volt/fuel gauge pod if so equipped.

After having done mine more than once I decided to replace the original 4x10" front with a dual speaker system from Classic Industries. I bought the cheap set-up thinking it would be ok and I soon replaced the cheapies with Pioneer. You can fit two 3.5" fronts, just wire them in series.

Umm it would be ALOT eaiser to just build a speaker kick panel for the pass side and smoothe it all out with some bondo and then carpet it. And on the driver side, well its up to you as to where you wana put the speaker, but believe it or not you can custom make a kick panel type speaker holder for that area as well. Saw a guy with one at a car show once, looked nice. Saves you taking the dash apart and possiably breaking stuff.
I would go with something along the lines of a 4" up to a 5X8. You dont need alot to make it sound good up there.

I put the speakers into the flat area on the front sides of the console. They work fine there, and don't look obtrusive (black speakers on a black console).
