Well I guess I can kiss my drive shaft goodbye!
What was Kauffman business relationship to keisler?

Crazy, that list! Wow! I recall a few guys here saying they were going to get on that list after plenty of people warning against it.

If they were in fact taking orders they knew would never be filled, they are pure scum!

I suspect at least one name on that list won't care about a bankruptcy and will take matters into their own hands.

The driveshaft they sent me now resides in the corner of the garage. I could have made a better one using a fence post.

From what I gathered up is Keisler was a dealer and not a manufacture of the product although they did modify some parts for the trans, for the most part they purchased everything and did assembly at their location. Look at these two web sites for more info and everything still for sale and nothing to do with Keisler as a company.

I tried calling yesterday and all i got was answering machine. I will keep trying. I am just glad I received my Trans, bell-housing and clutch.

Be interesting to know how much is owed to legend. Hopefully they don't get sucked down the drain with Shafi or should I say Shafti.

Default Call your credit card company to dispute the charges

Don't waste time with the seller. They're done.

The credit card issuer is the one you need to file a dispute with.

Good luck!

Yeah you're right. The list is out, papers already filed.

That phone isn't going to be answered unless a creditor security guard happens to pick it up.

I think if they knew and still took $ then thats willful Fraud punishable by law and maybe the bankruptcy could be stopped by the judge.

There are some long waiting customers with partial down payments have stated on other online forums that Keisler called them last week asking for authorization to run the remainder of their order payment on their credit cards. At that point its hard to deny that the owner and at least some management at Keisler was full aware that they were about to file for bankruptcy.

On 1/15, a day before Keisler filed for bankruptcy, they posted a picture on their Facebook page "Check out our products at PRC" like business was usual. I posted a comment yesterday asking what will happen to their products now that they filed Chapter 7 and they deleted the comment along with disabling comments on everything they have posted. There is a pretty nasty review from a "David Gross" stating that Keisler has all his money for a year but have never shipped any product. Unfortunately he is on the list of creditors.

The chances of that are about zilch unless the creditor files a motion for exemption from automatic stay in the BK court. And even if the creditor does so, granting such a motion almost never prevails for unsecured creditors.

As above, if you can't get your credit card company involved, there's about a 99.9% chance you're screwed, blued and tattooed.

No personal knowledge of their products.....so what is/was their flagship product?

Their own Tremec overdrives, a Tremec distributor or did they custom mfg complete systems off Tremec tranny platform?

What were they (actually) manufacturing?

I thought they were a Tremec dist when I bought my TKO. After getting the run around on my delivery date I discovered that Tremec wouldn't sell them anymore and that my TKO came through somebody else before Keisler modded it and delivered it to me. They tried doing some remanufactured transmissions they named RS500 and RS600, I forget what they were based on. Then they started with this SS700 when they got everybody all pissed off with their lack of delivery on the RS units. I think they've simply been taking deposits/payment on units and throwing that money towards satisfying people that had paid earlier.
It seems the pyramid hath collapsed.......

Quote from a Legend Gear employee on a Buick forum:

Quote:
"The Legend Gear (if that's what he's(Keisler) calling the perfect fit) transmission was never his...he was our distributor...we paid the 2 million plus for the tooling and paid for design assistance...as car guys (we're ALL car guys at Legend) we wanted to address all issues including noise, torque rating, appearance, everything...we heard that we were getting a delivery black eye because of false information but that was never the case...if you call Jeff Spraker at Spraker Racing (704-799-1300) you will discover that your lead time is only 6-10 weeks...

I'm the sales manager, 67 GS owner, and I just bought one this week...we are truly sorry for those guys who left deposits but rest assured we didn't see any of that money...

We're still manufacturing OUR 5 speed transmission and will be on the creditor list with those who left deposits...and soon we'll be having good news for our customers by the way of very high profile customer endorsements...

Bruce Kepley, Legend Gear and Transmission, Statesville, NC"

A few years ago, I put a deposit down for some custom furniture just before the place went belly up. My credit card co. got my money back - no problems at all. (I may have had to wait a month for them to get it.)
