Default There's something you don't see every day - bullet hole!

After stripping the doors on my '71 Trans Am we found a bullet hole and two ricochet hits on the driver's door! Past life as a getaway car? When I bought the car in 2000 it still had all the original LOF clear glass except aftermarket tinted installed on the driver's side. I really didn't give it much thought until now!

I may have to search the Decatur, IL public records for any 1970's crimes involving a white "Camero" getaway car ...

Amazing what secrets these cars hold, hidden for decades.

In the late 60's through 70's, there were a lot of 'bad' areas in town you didn't want to go through.

Probably a drive by type shooting thing?
(guys going down street shooting anything on road)

If these cars could tell their stories, some of them would be screaming!

Can you post a close up of the bullet hole? I want to see if it was incoming or outgoing.

Could be an Elvis car!

Had a 22 hole above the right rear 1/4 wheel well in my '80 SE. Right where the inner well was spotwelded in. Welded up the hole when had the car repainted in '84. Mothballed the '80 in 1987 with under 50K miles, too many wild times.

I think Raymond Burr would have figured that hole out by now. Columbo too.

I found six .45 caliber hollow point bullets in the console of a '69 Judge I bought out of Dallas, TX back in 2005. The rear seat divider was also hacked out. Might have been used to smuggle items (or people) back in the day! The last license tabs were from 1987....

We could try a few different rounds in that door and see what matches? LOL

My 71 also had a few bullet holes put in it. They were rather large too.
