Icon has an off the shelf piston with a 14cc dish, which would put you in pump gas territory. And while your at it, put some decent rods in there. Stock rods are not favored anymore, as most chinese rods are much better. Buy once, cry once.

Yup, that's where my 2262's came from around 87 and I think the price was similar. Receipt is long gone.

I had the 2262's with 62 heads in a stock set up not long ago. That combo was cam sensitive WRT denotation.

PAW throw-back add from 1980:

How about a 400 or 455 short block for $1154.00?

Rotating assembly w forged pistons - $475!

PAW catalogs were the xmas Sear's catalog for gearheads! Heheh!

That's true, excellent reading material. What's cool about that add is it shows a complete "Racing Crankshaft Kit" for the OHC 6's. When I bought the 2262's I also bought a ring kit, Performer manifold, a Holley, and a Milodon high pressure pump. Wasn't long after the box arrived my X departed!

Just ordered a set of Icon FHR forged. Not top of the line, but lighter & a little more dish than the 8vr's. Hopefully they'll work out well. 👍
