I recall someone telling me it was for sale in Charlotte last year? or the year before?
It's a beaut, but I like mine better without the roof rack
IIRC - Didn't I see yours (or twin to it) on a "What's My Car Worth?" Or similar Velocity TV program?

Not while I've owned it, which has been just about a year.

Not too bad, except for the "additional" chrome scoop treatments...

He'd have a hard time getting $5,500 for that if it was in mint condition.

It's missing the obligatory "easy fix!"

That's a shame really. I had a car similar to that for a few years and they are not worth much $$ but they are great driving cars. He'd be lucky to get $500 for it.

That's the thing about a car like that....Even in perfect condition, it's tough to sell. I'll bet the guy asking $5500 for it -who bought it from the proverbial 'little old lady' in like-new condition- didn't pay more than $1000 for it.

Either this guy is driving around in a giant piece of spam or he really likes to eat it. Either way how does this picture help sell your car?

You guys are all missing the point.
This dummy failed to mention the 400 is a chebby crate motor (that he probably has over $4,000 in it plus the tranny). Why else would he call it a small block? You know if it were a poncho 400, it would be lauded as a big block.
Now if I'm wrong, and he's never swapped the engine, then of course, he is totally out of line and delusional.
He just has very poor marketing skills. All he's really trying to do is recoupe his money for the so called perfect engine & trans.

400 in a '79 Catalina would be pretty damn rare alright. Could you even get the 400 in a B body in 1979? I'm thinking Bonneville only, if at all.

X2. No 400 "small block" chebby engines in that car ever from the factory either. Not even in the Chevy version (Caprice/ Impala) that year.
