On their website, Dave posted Jan 31, this year, their situation. Not a lot new, but news. of course insurance companies will NOT overcompensate Dave and Lisa because they are such great folks.
I'm still praying for a bunch of greatness to come out of this deal, Please, Lord!!!

Couple comments he passed on. Struggle for them, financial and marital. It's a tough thing to lose your dependable business. He works part time to supplement in the mechanical fields. He borrows space in friends shops to do his work. Got a flow bench lije his ruined one. But the 5 axis CNC mill is elusive and cannot seem to close on one.

As for the shop, he is fighting over valued land or shops and can't get a already built shop where he can afford it. I am guessing a popular retiree area.

He wants to start clean, away from that bottom of the mountain spot.
The payouts weren't anywhere near enough.

stevesbirds,

Is there any idea what was salvaged from Dave’s shop? I had a set of SD-455 heads there. I see in the Jan update on his site that he’s finishing jobs that were in process when the fire occurred. Just wondering if they survived.

I recommend sending an email to Dave. But be patient it may be a week or two before he replies. We had set of HO and a set of SD heads there and they survived. So fingers crossed your's are okay too.

That's great to hear! Hopefully, mine are amongst the survivors! I did send a couple of emails to Dave over the past few months asking about them. I'll try sending another.

As he said, email. My heads will likely come through OK. If your work needs porting, that will be a hold up until more of the machine shop key tools are in place.

Good news from Dave! My SD-455 heads survived!

One had been ported prior to the fire. The other will hopefully be finished this year. It sounds as if he's found and purchased a CNC mill and was able to salvage all his porting programs.
