Default Power Windows 70-72 Dealer Installed Option???

so i called Year One , looking for a power window switch for my '70 Trans Am...they tell me they offer one for a '73-'76...that the 70-72 never came from the factory with power windows ...as they were a dealer installed option only...my PHS documentation does not show power windows, but the car has factory wiring and motors... can anybody verify this story?????

year one?? Anyways, yeah PW was an option, we have a few members here with it as factory installed. I have parted 71,72, 73 and up with it, but not any 1970 models.
in '70 was sales code 551, and cost $105.32 , had to have a console to order them though. the early switch has rounded corners, I think someone is "repoping" that now.
our Host, Performance years has the switch 1-800-542-PART

Thats HILARIOUS........

Was tinkering on my 70 W66 in the driveway today with Power Windows (factory intalled and on the PHS invoice)

The problem with the repro parts company's that sell multiple brands is.... they really know ALOT about NOTHING!

Reading their catalogs is very entertaining.....

Our host here,Performance Years...only sells ONE brand ......Pontiac.......I always try to give them first shot.

The switch with the rounded corners was used from 70-77 as I recall....

My first '71 T/A had power windows from the factory. It also had power locks. The lock switch was installed in the dash bezel in the same opening as the defroster switch. Seemed odd to me at the time.
