I have submitted all the names to Bob Ashton along with your contact information, so expect a packet of information and/or a phone call regarding entering your car into the show and if you would like it judged or not. There is an entrance fee and a separate judging fee.

Please let me and Bob Ashton know if your plans change between now and the show (if you can't attend and have to withdraw your car).

Thanks, Dennis

PS: Display name to be revealed soon...

Well.....

Received this today:

Quote:
Formula’s For Success; I love when someone comes to me with an idea for something different, and that is exactly what our good friend Dennis Jensen did. This group will showcase all kinds of High Performance 1970-1974 2nd Gen Firebirds of the Formula variation. RA III's, Super Dutys and H/O’s will be featured ranging from stripped down sleepers to executive supercars loaded with options.

I should add that's probably Bob's prelim. copy, as Dennis fed it to him first.

Nope, not official. I let Bob Ashton know that we are naming the display.....drumroll please.......The Fabulous Formulas. Greggdog offered this name and we had to go with a tagline that was short and catchy. Formula Fest (Norwood's idea) was a close second. We are going to develop display boards that will have the introduction line from the '70 Firebird brochure the HFR offered: The Beginning of Tomorrow - Pontiac's Firebird Formula along with the grainy images from the brochures of all the years represented. The boards will be displayed with the like-year Formy's. It looks like we will be arranged in two rows, back to back with the ends having 3-'70 Formy's and 3-'74 Formy's radially placed with the '71 - '73 cars between. We will have 16 Formulas on display, so it will be a memorable event for our beloved Firebirds.

I'll be working on those soon as well as a PVC pipe frame structure to can hold 4 "The Fabulous Formulas" banners that will be in the center of the display so we can be spotted in the sea of other displays. I want this to be killer.

Somewhere I have a pic of a 1970 Billboard in Michigan with a Lucy 1970 Formy on it and the "Beginning" line under it.. The pic could be cleaned up. I have seen 3, Esprit, Formy and Base for 1970 as Billboards.

Dennis, I'm gathering up some Formula promotional photos and other misc Formulas vintage pics and will send them to you shortly.

The billboard photo is one of my favorites.

I love the third pic with the basket of "parts" on the hood.

Bruce - You going to drag your as_s away from New Hampshire and the coal stove long enough to socialize with us next November? It would be great if you could.
