I noticed that also. Really looks like it might have some solid donor material. I could have really used that roof 10 years ago.. Better pics would help...

That’s no lie... we have a few trends in Houston:

-Candy and Chrome
-Swanga’s
-And unfortunately grand sport hash stripes on anything with four wheels. The worst is the new dodge chargers with them

Re: current "striping" seen on newer cars here. Hash deals, yes. But I saw one a week ago that I never have. Now I can dig retro over the top racing stripe. You know, not centered, but offset over the driver side. This one was over the passenger side. It messed my brain a bit.

That 37 coupe would be cool with a OHC 6 Pontiac in it (IMO).

I was just thinking the same thing. Someone put a lot of time, money and skill into that but what a poor aesthetic design! U-G-L-Y!

A few gems from my neck of the woods today:

Another ridiculously overpriced basket case project, but hey its a "big block"!
https://sacramento.craigslist.org/ct...746713973.html

Another "big block"
https://sacramento.craigslist.org/ct...746787517.html

The very rare "Lamanz"
https://reno.craigslist.org/cto/d/19...748553970.html

Hilariously overpriced Tempest with a damn Chevy motor
https://reno.craigslist.org/cto/d/19...738005567.html

Er, um.. 4x4 anyone?
https://reno.craigslist.org/cto/d/19...751460268.html

"Turn key driver" with a stupid price
https://reno.craigslist.org/cto/d/19...730519314.html

Overpriced "KITT" replica made from the wrong year..
https://reno.craigslist.org/cto/d/ki...727918458.html

REDUCED!! To complete shambles..
https://reno.craigslist.org/cto/d/re...712616112.html

And finally.. a modestly priced, yet potentially decent looking Trans Am project? It's not all ridiculous idiots and dreamers up here, apparently!

I'd buy that TA tomorrow if it was close by.

Anyway ... as ridiculous as these prices are ... I actually bet these people are selling them at close to those prices. Bear in mind there is a huge idiot market out that is probably larger than the market populated by educated Pontiac buyers.

In general, if no one ever pays these prices, then even idiots would not be asking these prices. I bet they are often getting 75% of their asking price. Lots of uninformed rich people that will buy these cars, drop them off at a shop and say call me when it's done. And will probably drop $40K because they think that's what it will worth when they are done.

I know when it comes to the motorcycle market ... when 90% of the bikes you are looking at are $3000 over priced ... well, that's the NEW price because people are buying them.

Never underestimate what a guy that makes $300K a year and wants the car he drove in high school is willing to spend.

Disagree. Any idiot can put a pie-in-the-sky price on a car - doesn't mean it's selling. There is lots of overpriced crap on this board in the Cars for Sale section. For months and months this junk gets "bumped to the top" by a seller who is desperately clinging to the "Greater Fool" theory. Precious few cars actually sell. The same is true for other venues, especially Craigslist.

And the big money guys are more interested in buying nice cars to start with, not dicking around with junk projects.
