Nice Olds! I like the RC sign on the garage, too!

No mention of engine displacement. Do you think the frame cross overs were added later or factory? Same goes for the exhaust pipe routing holes in the frame cross overs. Nice looking car. bt

It's not real rust,it's "cosmetic rusting ". I think that's a different class on the rust chart.

The Tempest looks like a decent car for the money, I would definitely be interested in it if it was closer to me. A sprint car with 4 speed and gauges at a very reasonable price does not come up that often. I would be more concerned with frame rust from the way it is sitting.

I am pretty sure that is an X frame car and the frame cross overs are the frame and are factory. Also the exhaust cut out could be stock they do have that feature I just do not know what size they would be.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, I only know enough about 55-59 GM cars to be dangerous.

I don't know that much about them either but looks pretty stock compared to other older cars I've seen. I had a '63 Impala when I was a kid and they were still using somewhat similar frame shape then. Not exactly an 'X' but close.
Here is a '58 Caddy frame for reference.. Note the exhaust routing.

I don't ever remember seeing a car with this severe top rust.

But there isn't enough to buff out? Seriously never seen rust that bad on a roof, and that dash pad! The rest of interior still looks sort of good?

When I met my future wife, she had a '67 Cougar in that same color combo. White with a black PAINTED top and saddle interior. 289 Hi-Performance engine. It was a great little car. Wish we'd kept it.

I always thought they should of made the Cougar in a fastback. I stumbled across a build thread on a Cougar forum where he took the fastback roof, trunk lid, and internal structure from a 68 Mustang and grafted it on. It looked amazing even unfinished.

Maybe someday I'll attempt it lol
