I was told that it doesn't have the born with engine/tranny, but I might be mistaken.

Unless there are two of them on this site, I know the car you are referring too. However, part of what I'm looking for is a number matching drivetrain.

I can't help but feel as though this car has been mentioned either here, or somewhere else on the forum - I believe it has been on eBay, noticed it in the Smoke Signals classifieds over Christmas, and now this morning I received a Hemmings alert of this same car - now at Volo:
**Please note** From reviewing Volo's pictures, and the video, it is apparent that the front end height has been corrected since this picture was taken - this is the same picture that I recall seeing from the ebay listing(s). There has been ALOT of attention paid to the paint finish, and it reads as though this is a complete numbers car; The only things that have me scratching my head about the restoration are: - the seat covers and door panels look really flat - the dash bird, and other painted details appear to all be faded/rubbed off (I would think that for a car of this caliber, these should have been cleaned up) - leather wrapped Formula wheel (really? - why) - I am not seeing a jack/spare in the car (pictures #62 & #63); but maybe they were removed for photos(?) - the bumper used is either a 70-71 base/TA or 1972 bumper, OR the correct 70-71 Esprit/Formula bumper with the emblem mounting holes filled - as there is no bumper bird emblem Volo makes a big deal about the wheels, saying it was special ordered with "Trans Am wheels" when in fact, although seldom selected, this was a regular option which was exclusive to the Formula. The Volo video also says that this is more desirable than a same year/drivetrain Trans Am, and as bias as I may be, I know this to be blatantly untrue. I find it odd that the car has: - ralley gauges w/tach - close ratio 4 spd (m21 incl/3.73:1) - full chrome - recessed wipers - 15" Rally II's - power steering (required with a Formula wheel) ... but no power brakes!? - Was this a goof up on the part of the original owner/order?? The chrome and recessed wipers seem to be in direct contradiction to the "stripper" feel of the rest of the car... This is still one heck of a car... and iirc (from my two visits) Volo makes financing easier to get than a conventional private sale.

no problem;
I guess I should have mentioned that the big picture in post #33 is a direct link to the Hemmings listing... looking at it now, it's not very apparent.

I know the guy who bought the car. There was a thread on PY when he brought it home several years ago. I am pretty sure that is the same one that ended up with a set of my JWs.
