A beautiful car. It does wonders for my soul to see one like this. I have all parts to put vinyl top on mine. Seeing one like this makes me lean toward putting it on. I have to know. Did you buy it from a dealer or private party. I will post some pictures of mine as soon as I get batteries for my camera.

Fireball -- Purchased from a small collector car dealer (a one man show). He got it from some old guy a couple years ago. Touched up a few cosmetic items (chrome trim, weather stripping, wheel rims, etc) and then flipped it to me.
After an arduous 3rd party evaluation, I decided to fly out last minute to KC over the weekend for a personal inspection. After the test drive and research with PHS; I decided to purchase the car. What really impressed me (aside from the lack of rust and overall condition of the car) was all of the original documentation and delivery paperwork along with the original protecto plate that came with the car. I couldn't pass up the deal. It's a good time to buy in this economy. Quote:

My wife has always been against a vinyl top, I happen to like then, but you know I'm not going to win this battle. Anyway I showed her pictures of yours and she is saying now maybe a top would look good. By the way, mine is Alpine blue code D and I think a black top would look great, Thanks.

An old picture of mine. Solar Red, with a Parchment interior.
Unusual options for a GTO, with P/S,P/B, P/drivers seat,P/windows, P/antenna, A/C, tilt wheel, cruise control, rear defroster, AM FM w/reverb, hideaways, his n hers, headrests on the seats, hood tach, rally gauges, disc brakes, original engine and trans. Right now it's sleeping in the garage, awaiting it's turn.

I love the Mayfair Maize 68s.
That's the color of the car that made me love Pontiacs when I was a little kid. '68 Firebird 400. Later, in 1982, it was the color of my first '68 Goat.

I like that color on 68s too.I was 7 yrs old in 68 when my cousin bought a new GTO that color. He stopped by to take my dad for a ride, and me.I remember how good it looked.I also remember that it smelled really hot because he had been running the piss out of it.You know, that 'new engine smell'.

Alpine blue, 400/4-speed/3:55. Ralley gauges, tilt steering wheel. No power steering or brakes. Going to remedy that. |

Sweet looking Alpine Blue. Are those 14 or 15 in wheels? If 15 what size tire?

She has 215/70/14 on front and 275/60/15 on rear in stalled by a previous owner. Funny you should ask because I am walking out door to have a uniform set of Tiger Paws put on it. Have a car show tomorrow!
